The Amsterdams Chemisch Dispuut (ACD) is the study association for chemistry students in Amsterdam, based at both the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). The ACD currently has over 400 members from the joint degree programmes Scheikunde (bachelor's) and Chemistry (master's). We also maintain close contact with the research groups at both universities, including PhD students.

In the Bachelor's programme, students can specialise in two of the four tracks: Synthesis and Sustainability, Chemistry of Life, Analytics and Photonics, and Quantum and Computing, allowing them to develop a broad foundation in all areas of chemistry. During the Master's programme, students are given the opportunity to further deepen their knowledge in one of the four tracks: Analytical Science, Molecular Sciences, Chemistry of Life, and Science for Energy and Sustainability. After completing their studies, our members mainly go on to work for chemical companies, but also find their way into consultancy and the IT sector.

As a study association, our goal is to contribute to the quality of the study programme and to connect chemistry students through extracurricular and social activities. The ACD not only organises symposiums, lectures and excursions, but also informal activities such as drinks, sporting events and parties. In addition, the ACD actively brings its members into contact with research groups and companies through orientation markets, lectures, excursions and a career day.

In terms of collaboration opportunities, we offer the possibility to give a lecture, organise a company visit or place a logo and company profile on our website. We can also distribute promotional material in our association room or via our member mail.
